The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has introduced a cutting-edge blockchain technology platform, named ‘e-Diplôme,’ to combat counterfeit diplomas and accelerate sluggish administrative processes.

The unveiling of this digital innovation took place on July 18 at a Council of Ministers session in Kinshasa.

The Minister of Communication and Media, Patrick Muyaya Katembwe, emphasized that the ‘e-Diplôme’ platform signifies a crucial milestone in revamping the Congolese education system. This transition towards transparency, modernization, and digital autonomy establishes the DRC’s educational framework as a benchmark for governance in Central Africa.

Accessible via www.schoolap.cd, the platform allows for centralized digital management of educational credentials. Each diploma is stored and authenticated through blockchain technology, facilitating immediate online validation by graduates, employers, educational institutions, and embassies.

Furthermore, the system guarantees perpetual digital archiving, safeguarding records against data loss, counterfeiting, and physical harm.

This initiative addresses the prevalent diploma falsification issue in the DRC, aligning with broader governmental efforts to revamp civil service, reinforce digital autonomy, and digitalize critical public provisions.

By eliminating paper-based processes and manual paperwork, the platform intends to streamline interactions among educational institutions, government bodies, and employers, thereby minimizing validation delays, reducing errors, and simplifying graduation procedures.
