Amber Group Acquires Unitronics: Strengthening Industry 4.0 Solutions

New Delhi: Electronics manufacturer Amber Group has finalized an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Unitronics, a leading global player in industrial automation and control systems, as announced in an official filing.

The specific financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. However, per the acquisition terms, Unitronics will utilize Amber’s electronics division, IL JIN’s extensive manufacturing knowledge, to bolster operational efficiencies, drive innovation, and solidify its market presence in India.

This move by Amber is part of its strategy to broaden its industrial product offerings and achieve backward integration, thereby enhancing competitiveness and gaining entry to prominent global markets such as the US and Europe, meeting the rising demand for Industry 4.0 solutions.

Jasbir Singh, the Executive Chairman and CEO of Amber Group, stated, “This deal will notably reinforce Amber’s Electronic Division by establishing a firm position in the ever-expanding Industry 4.0 sector with cutting-edge data-driven technologies.”

Unitronics provides a wide array of industrial automation solutions tailored to diverse applications, encompassing the design, development, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and support of products like PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Servo Drives, and SaaS solutions including UniCloud and Industrial IoT. These offerings are augmented by all-in-one software for machine and process control in various industries.

In addition to its current product line consisting of consumer durables, hearables, wearables, telecom devices, automotive solutions, energy meters, and defense products, Amber Group is gearing up for a significant expansion.

Haim Shani, the Joint Chairman of Unitronics, remarked, “The collaboration with Amber Group marks a critical milestone in our journey. Fueled by a common vision, this partnership is set to unlock synergies and elevate the business to new levels of success.”

The executive team at Unitronics will continue to serve on the board and collaborate closely with Amber’s leadership, as mentioned in the joint statement issued.
