Realme Focuses on Premium Smartphones for Growth in 2025 and Beyond

Realme has restructured its smartphone portfolio in India to concentrate on mid-premium and premium models, anticipating growth in the latter half of 2025 and 2026 after experiencing declines in volume.
In 2025, Realme commenced a strategic portfolio revamp, emphasizing three core series – the GT Series, the Number Series, and the P Series, shared Francis Wong, the Chief Marketing Officer of Realme India, with ETTelecom.
Realme has already started implementation of this targeted strategy with noticeable results. Consumers can expect a more concise lineup in the upcoming quarters aiming for simplicity and purposeful choices.
The “Plus” variants have been removed from the latest Realme 15 series, with focus shifting to empowering the “Pro” models with top-tier features. The GT Series is positioned for premium innovation, the Number Series caters to offline sales, and the P Series leads online-first sales momentum.
Market Share and Strategy
Despite a 10% market share in India’s smartphone market in the April-June 2025 quarter, Realme slipped from its 13% share compared to the previous year. Realme’s shipments declined by 17% year-on-year to 3.6 million units in Q2 2025, with a notable contribution from offline channels like C73, C75, and 14X.
In the ultra-premium category, Realme introduced the GT 7 Dream Edition in India, targeted at younger consumers with premium features and design details. Realme is leveraging AI in the GT-series for the premium segment and focusing on volume from the Number-series and young audience appeal with the P-series.
Outlook for 2025
Realme’s recently released P3 Ultra 5G and the Realme 15 series have shown promising sales figures, reflecting successful offline retail strategies and customer-centric product development. Realme expects further growth in the mid-premium segment leading into the festive season, supported by an expanded offline presence.
