Ahmed Zaki, an Egyptian entrepreneur focusing on enhancing financing access for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Egypt, co-founded Flend to offer digital tools catering to the cash flow requirements of smaller firms. As CEO of Flend, Zaki spearheads this Cairo-based startup that specializes in developing digital financing solutions tailored for SMEs.

Established in 2022 by Ahmed Zaki, Nehal Helmy, and Saif Edeen El Bendari, Flend delivers fully digital short-term cash loans, managing every phase from registration and credit scoring to electronic signatures and installment collection.

Flend collaborates with more than twenty technical partners overseeing SME value chains within agricultural, e-commerce, manufacturing, retail, and export sectors. Recognized by the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority as a digital non-bank financial institution, Flend recently secured $3 million in a seed funding round supported by Egypt Ventures, combining equity and debt financing.

Zaki emphasized that this funding round enables Flend to support SMEs in alignment with Egypt’s economic drivers, as he anticipates a surge in demand and prepares for scalable operations.
