Deutsche Telekom Launches AI-Phone and AI-Tablet for Easy Access to Artificial Intelligence

Deutsche Telekom has introduced its latest T Phone 3 and T Tablet 2, named the “AI-phone” and “AI-tablet” in partnership with Perplexity. These devices are not just hardware upgrades but gateways to AI, featuring a dedicated magenta button for instant access to the Perplexity Assistant.
The Perplexity Assistant can assist with a variety of daily tasks, such as finding recipes, planning trips, setting calendar reminders, or translating menus. It integrates with pre-installed applications seamlessly, acting as a personal assistant for users.
Dominique Leroy of Deutsche Telekom stated, “Together with trusted partners, we are launching the AI-phone across Europe to simplify tasks and provide reliable, time-saving information, allowing users to focus on their creativity and ideas.”
Deutsche Telekom has priced the AI-phone at €149 and the AI-tablet at €199 in Germany, with an option to bundle them with a network tariff for just one euro each. Buyers also receive an 18-month subscription to Perplexity Pro and a three-month Picsart Pro license with extra credits.
The launch extends beyond Germany to countries like Austria, Croatia, and Poland, offering enhanced hardware performance and AI features. The AI-phone integrates AI tools into its camera, while the AI-tablet focuses on productivity with a large screen and distinct reading modes.
Deutsche Telekom is committed to sustainability, with the T Phone 3 receiving a #GreenMagenta label and a high Eco Rating. The T Tablet 2 uses recycled plastic in its construction, promoting a circular economy.
The company is democratizing AI through the MeinMagenta app, providing customers access to “Magenta AI” for various AI services and features.
Claudia Nemat of Deutsche Telekom emphasized the importance of AI technology and encouraged customers to explore AI tools through the AI-phone and Magenta AI.
Industry analysts predict significant growth in AI-capable smartphones, with European consumers showing interest in AI functions like real-time translation and camera enhancements.
