Three senior executives in Intel’s manufacturing operations are set to retire as new CEO Lip-Bu Tan implements changes to resuscitate the struggling U.S. chipmaker.

Intel informed staff that corporate vice presidents Kaizad Mistry, Ryan Russell, and Gary Patton would retire.

The chipmaker plans to reduce its manufacturing capacity planning team and engineering team.

Naga Chandrasekaran, former Micron Technology executive, now leads manufacturing operations and technology development.

Intel aims to slash its workforce by 22% by year-end and take a disciplined approach to manufacturing investment.

Intel’s next-generation 14A manufacturing process hinges on securing new customers.

CEO Tan emphasized the development of Intel 14A and rationalizing the use of the 18A process, focusing on in-house products.

The company plans to manufacture Panther Lake PC chips using its 18A process this year.
