Lamine Barro: Transforming African Education with Etudesk

Lamine Barro, a young Ivorian entrepreneur, is leveraging technology to revolutionize how African youth engage in learning and work. Through his visionary startup, Etudesk, he harmonizes data, accessibility, and digital resources to enhance skills and propel digital evolution across West Africa.
Barro, the innovative mind behind Etudesk, established the company in 2016. Since its inception, Etudesk has emerged as a prominent figure in the digital education sphere, offering data-driven solutions to both public entities and private enterprises.
Etudesk presents a cutting-edge platform that consolidates and maintains real-time socio-economic and urban data. This resource is utilized by governments, investors, and businesses to make well-informed decisions and gain deeper insights into local dynamics. However, the company’s influence extends further, particularly within the realms of education and employment.
Etudesk’s flagship tool, the Etudesk Learning Management System (LMS), is engineered to enhance the capabilities of African talent. Users can seamlessly generate, oversee, and disseminate educational content through this platform. Organizations and corporations can create training initiatives incorporating videos, quizzes, documents, and evaluations.
In March 2025, Etudesk introduced a bespoke data platform for the Agence Emploi Jeunes (AEJ) in Côte d’Ivoire. This innovative system integrates AI-powered diagnostics to evaluate each user’s profile, competencies, and objectives, offering personalized suggestions—a resource designed to link young individuals with job prospects aligned with their aspirations.
Besides his contributions through Etudesk, Barro assumes a broader role in the Ivorian tech environment. He is the co-founder and vice-president of #Ci20 (Côte d’Ivoire Innovation 20), a consortium comprising top technology firms. Additionally, he serves on the scientific council of Mission Laïque Française, a French non-profit organization managing schools globally.
Prior to venturing into the tech field, Barro pursued studies in biology, acquiring his bachelor’s degree from the Université Péléforo Gon Coulibaly in Korhogo in 2015.
