Private 5G Network Deployment at Tawesco: Industry 4.0 Transformation

T-Mobile and Ericsson have successfully deployed a private 5G network for Czech manufacturer Tawesco in the 3.4-3.8 GHz band to enable Industry 4.0 technologies. The deployment, covering Tawesco’s main plant in Kopřivnice, Czechia, marks the beginning of a groundbreaking project within the Promet Group.
Thus far, the initiative has witnessed the connection of numerous Industry 4.0 devices to the network, with further expansions planned across the main plant and sister companies. The private 5G network facilitates connectivity to a variety of equipment, from mobile devices to material handling machinery.
The deployment utilizes the 3400-3800 MHz band, leveraging permissions from T-Mobile in line with the Czech government’s directive for enterprises to adopt private 5G networks. Similar deployments are observed in various sectors, such as the automotive industry and the manufacturing domain.
Tawesco, a key manufacturer operating multiple sites across Czechia, has joined forces with Promet Group to pioneer this transformation. As part of the project’s future vision, advancements in AI and real-time machine control will drive efficiency and autonomy across the factory environment.
This strategic move aligns with the global industry trend towards symbiotic ecosystems of human and technological interaction. Tawesco’s early adoption of these innovations positions them as a role model for modern industrial enterprises.
Luboš Lukasík from T-Mobile reaffirms the commitment to high-speed, secure private 5G networks, illustrating the pivot towards advanced technology solutions within Czech industry.
