Dozens of devices, including mobile devices, production machinery, and material handling equipment, have been connected to the private 5G network. Automation equipment like conveyors, forklifts, cranes, and AGVs are part of this setup.
The 5G network operates in the 3400-3800 MHz frequency band with authorization from T-Mobile, complying with the Czech government’s directive for local operators to offer this spectrum for private 5G networks.
Other notable private 5G networks in the country include those at Czech Technical University, Škoda Auto, and the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant.
Tawesco’s operations span multiple sites, including locations in Úvaly, Nový Jičín, and Kopřivnice, where the company uses its vast production areas for engineering components primarily for the automotive, forestry, and logistics sectors.
Promet Group, based in Ostrava, overseeing 40+ companies in machinery and engineering, expects significant growth in the private 5G initiative started at Kopřivnice across its entire network.
The aim is to create an intricate digital ecosystem enabling real-time control and automation, with professionals emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between technology and industrial processes.
