Private 5G Network Deployment by T-Mobile and Ericsson at Tawesco Manufacturing Plant in Czechia
T-Mobile and Ericsson have successfully implemented a private 5G network for Tawesco, a Czech manufacturing company, in the 3.4-3.8 GHz band to enhance Industry 4.0 applications. The deployment covers the main plant in Kopřivnice, Czechia, and plans are underway to extend this network to sister companies within the Promet Group.
So far, Tawesco has connected numerous Industry 4.0 devices to the 5G network, including mobile devices, production machinery, and material handling equipment. The deployment, utilizing spectrum from T-Mobile, represents a significant leap towards the adoption of private 5G networks for industrial applications.
The Czech government’s decision to make spectrum holdings accessible for private 5G networks has facilitated such deployments, with various enterprises, including the Czech Technical University and major companies like Škoda Auto, leveraging this technological advancement.
The project scope extends beyond the main manufacturing plant, with Tawesco operating multiple sites across Czechia, producing a wide range of engineering components for automotive, agriculture, forestry, and logistics sectors.
Promet Group, the parent company of Tawesco, aims to expand this innovative project across its entire group, showcasing a forward-looking approach towards industrial digitalization.
