Space42, a UAE-based satellite and technology firm, has taken significant strides in advancing autonomous mobility in the region by signing two groundbreaking Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). These strategic collaborations, announced during the prestigious GITEX Global 2025 event in Dubai, involve UAE telecommunications company e& UAE and South Korean autonomous driving technology leader Autonomous A2Z. The partnerships aim to revolutionize smart city infrastructure and autonomous vehicle (AV) solutions across the Middle East and Africa, cementing the UAE’s position as a hub for innovation in intelligent transportation systems.

Under the first MoU, Space42 has partnered with e& UAE to jointly develop, test, and deploy cutting-edge Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technologies. This collaboration combines Space42’s Sovereign Mobility Cloud—launched recently to facilitate autonomous mobility—with e& UAE’s robust 5.5G and edge computing infrastructure, as well as secure communication protocols. Together, the two companies aim to enhance safety, optimize traffic management, and lay the groundwork for a seamless transition to 6G technology.
e& UAE CEO Masood M. Sharif Mahmood expressed the vision behind this partnership, saying, “Together with Space42, we’re combining UAE-wide 5.5G, edge compute, and secure communications with the Sovereign Mobility Cloud to let vehicles ‘see’ more, react faster, and share trusted data with roads, signals, and pedestrians.” The collaboration will also focus on piloting projects, building regulatory frameworks, and designing scalable business models, all with the goal of contributing to safer and more efficient transportation systems across the UAE.

In a separate MoU, Space42 announced its partnership with South Korea’s Autonomous A2Z. The agreement paves the way for establishing a joint venture in Abu Dhabi to develop and commercialize Level-4 autonomous-driving technologies. This collaboration builds on an earlier agreement between the two companies and aims to create a robust ecosystem for innovation, research, and deployment of cutting-edge autonomous mobility solutions.
“The UAE is rapidly advancing towards a new era of intelligent transport,” noted Hasan Al Hosani, CEO of Smart Solutions at Space42. “By joining forces with A2Z, we are paving the way for local innovation, technological advancement, and sovereign capability in one of the most transformative sectors of our time.” The venture is expected to be a catalyst for transforming the Middle East and Africa into frontrunners of autonomous driving technologies.

Space42’s ambitious initiatives are underpinned by its Sovereign Mobility Cloud, which operates on Core42’s Sovereign Public Cloud powered by Microsoft Azure. This AI-enabled infrastructure facilitates vital functions such as mapping, fleet management, and traffic monitoring. In addition to its high-profile partnerships with Dynamic Map Platform and General Motors, Space42 has made remarkable progress in deploying autonomous-driving systems, including its successful robotaxi service, TXAI.
Since its launch in 2021, TXAI has achieved impressive milestones, including logging close to 600,000 kilometers of autonomous driving and serving over 20,000 passengers without a single reported incident. Operating across premier locations in Abu Dhabi, including Saadiyat, Yas, and Al Reem Islands, the service showcases Space42’s commitment to technological excellence and road safety.
As the UAE continues to invest in smart city initiatives and futuristic transport systems, Space42’s collaborations with e& UAE and Autonomous A2Z exemplify the country’s ambition to lead on the global stage in autonomous mobility innovation.
