Starlink is a satellite constellation developed by SpaceX, a private aerospace manufacturer and space transport services company founded by Elon Musk. The Starlink constellation consists of thousands of small satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO), which work together to provide a network of broadband internet connectivity. The satellites use a combination of radio frequency (RF) and laser communication systems to transmit data between each other and to and from the user terminals. This allows for high-speed data transfer rates and low latency, making it suitable for real-time applications such as video streaming, online gaming, and voice over internet protocol (VoIP) calls.
One of the key advantages of Starlink is its ability to provide internet connectivity in areas where traditional infrastructure is lacking. This includes rural and remote areas, as well as areas with limited or no access to fiber-optic cables or cellular networks.
