T-Mobile and Ericsson Deploy Private 5G Network for Czech Manufacturer Tawesco
T-Mobile and Ericsson have successfully deployed a private 5G network for Czech manufacturer Tawesco in the 3.4-3.8 GHz band to support Industry 4.0 applications.
The new 5G setup covers an area of approximately 5,000 square meters at Tawesco’s main plant in Kopřivnice, Czechia, marking a significant milestone in the smart factory vision.
The deployment includes various Industry 4.0 devices and aims to expand the project to sister companies within the Promet Group.
Tawesco has already connected dozens of devices to the private 5G network, such as mobile devices, production machines, and material handling equipment, including conveyors, forklifts, jacks, cranes, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
This deployment operates within the 3400-3800 MHz band, authorized by T-Mobile in collaboration with the Czech government’s approval for private 5G network deployments.
The expansion of 5G networks for industrial use is a growing trend, with other notable projects such as those at the Czech Technical University in Prague, Škoda Auto, and the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant.
