Artificial intelligence and digital transformation were prominent themes. Jio Platforms’ proprietary AI, JioBrain, emerged as a standout in the AI Innovation category. Processing an astounding 350 billion daily data points, the platform has significantly enhanced operational efficiency with 40% fewer outages and reduced operational expenses. Meanwhile, the Best Digital Transformation Programme recognized Ericsson and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison for streamlining a fragmented subscriber base of 88 million into a unified digital platform, unlocking new revenue streams and delivering agile service innovation.

Palestine Telecommunications Company – Jawwal was commended for its resilience in maintaining critical network connectivity amidst severe infrastructure damage, earning the Crisis Response Award. In a nod to the industry’s future, the Next Gen Award recognized Chiago Akpata, Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs at Bayobab, for navigating complex intersections of telecommunications and public policy. Emerging startups like nodeQ also stood out, highlighting the sector’s ingenuity in addressing cybersecurity challenges.

The 2025 WCAs showcased how telecom companies worldwide are tackling complex issues while delivering forward-thinking solutions. As technology progresses, these innovators continue shaping the industry’s future, demonstrating why the WCAs remain a symbol of excellence in the global telecom ecosystem.
